Wholesale Wafer Type Butterfly Valve
Mostly wafer-type butterfly valves are constructed with four holes that are present in line with the connected pipeline. A wafer-style butterfly valve is specially made to join the two flanges in your pipework.
These wafer-style butterfly valves are of high quality that can easily fit the flange standards. There is a strong and reliable seal between the valve and flange connection. These valves are mostly used to cover both the valve body and flanges. These types of valves are best in sealing against high pressure.

What is a Wafer-type Butterfly Valve
The wafer-style butterfly valve is specially designed for protection against a two-way pressure difference and a tight seal. It is not like the lug-type butterfly valve because wafer-style valves cannot be used as pipe ends or end of line service.
So it is necessary to shut down the entire line if both sides of the valve require maintenance. Wafer-style butterfly valves are good in a sense because they are specially constructed to be compatible with either electrical actuation or pneumatic actuation. It is essential to determine the disc material and seat material depending on flow media and application.
Wafer-type Butterfly Valve Applications
These valves can be used for a variety of applications such as:
- Manufacturing
- Pharmaceuticals
- Food processing
- Oil and gas industry
- Chemical processing
- Shipbuilding and shipyards
- Water and wastewater processing and transportation
- HVAC

Wafer-type Butterfly Valve Installation
1.Firstly, place the wafer-type butterfly valve between butterfly valve flanges. These were pre-installed and in a proper position with the valve body circular holes.
2.Then insert the bolt and not into the holes of the flange. After that, connect this valve body with the flange. Keep in mind that not to over tighten the bolt and nut and carefully correct the method’s flatness.
3.This step is spot welding, where there is the welding of the flange on the pipe.
4.Then, the butterfly valve is removed.
5.Welding of the flange is completed to the pipe to ensure the best fixation.
6.When the flange is cooled with the pipe’s welding section, there will be the butterfly valve installation. Now there is a need for the opening of the butterfly plate.
7.If there is a need to tighten the bolt, it should be carefully done but not to over tighten.
8.It is essential to fully open the butterfly valve and butterfly plate to make sure that they could be opened and closed freely.
9.Now again, cross the bolt and tighten it completely.
10.After completing the above steps, there is a need to test the opening and closing of the butterfly valve. The test is necessary to make sure that the valve is free to switch.
